Sanofi S.A. is a French multinational pharmaceutical company, the world's fourth-largest by prescription sales. Sanofi has been in Vietnam for more than 50 years, and currently sells about 80 percent of the products made in Vietnam domestically.
The construction design of this factory adheres not only to Sanofi company and GMP standards, but also to the requirements of their insurance provider FM Global for fire prevention and fighting, roof and façade design, flood protection, and other parameters.
The plan of the building follows the flow of materials in the production process. All building spaces are classified into three zones of sterility and cleanliness for strict quality control. A system of air locks and increasing air pressure separates each zone. A walkable ceiling allows maintenance access from above to mechanical equipment.
Because the exterior envelope was predetermined by the client and the structural engineer, architectural design effort was focused on the administration block, and the motorbike parking canopy.
