Next Generation Workplace

Los Angeles, CA

Led the architecture project delivery team for this Interior renovation of 750,000sf of corporate office into an innovative "free addressing" work place for a biotech company. The team was structured as a 5 part IFOA/IPD, with the designer, owner, GC and major subs sharing risk and reward for performance on the $4m overall fee. Responsibilities included participation in weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings, management of design staff, project accounting, administration of Integrated Form of Agreement / Integrated Project Delivery (IFOA/IPD) using Deltek Vision and other firm and personal tools.

The Next Generation Workplace is a high performance environment based on a neighborhood planning concept. A variety of environments support activity-based work, from collaborative work in team rooms, breakout areas and “diversion” lounges (with pool tables, shuffleboard and Wii), to focused work in private rooms and wellness rooms.

The design optimizes the workspace using behavioral research and connecting the newly renovated workplace environments to surrounding natural beauty and exterior workplace opportunities. Open atriums and interconnecting stairs encourage people to connect with the beautiful views and their colleagues.
